EF-1040 is a pre-assembled Faraday Cage that is a highly effective for low-current measurements. These experiments are particularly susceptible to environmental electromagnetic interference (EMI). The BASi Faraday cage can provide a fully shielded environment that minimizes the EMI noise, which is crucial for obtaining precise and accurate electrochemical data when measuring currents below approximately 1 µA.
There are easy options for access to cables, amd the liner pad inside protects the metal beneath from accidental spills. The open/close option in the front door allows ease of usage.
The BASi Faraday cage is idea for electrochemical measurements involving insulating coatings, highly corrosion-resistant materials or ultra microelectrodes and sensors. Furthermore, these cages are extremely beneficial for studying low impedance devices such as large supercapacitors which usually have very small voltage responses.
White Paper: Low Current Measurements with BASi Research Products Faraday Cage
White Paper Summary: Cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry measurements were executed with a PalmSens4 potentiostat/galvanostat using a platinum microelectrode (d = 10 μm) as working electrode in a three-electrode configuration both inside and outside of the Faraday cage. The noise assessment on current measured inside the Faraday cage reveals a detection limit of ~50 pA which can be possibly further decreased by proper grounding and isolation of the Faraday cage and potentiostat. The data justifies the capabilities of the BASi Faraday cage when used for low current (sub nA) measurements.
